DECENNIAL COMMITTEES ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT EFFICIENCY ACT MEETING MINUTES

January 16, 2023
  1. CALL TO ORDER: President Purkart called the meeting to order at 4:48pm in the York Center Park District Board Room located at 1609 S Luther Ave., Lombard, Illinois.
  1. ROLL CALL: The following roll call was taken:

  1. APPROVAL MEETING MINUTES:
    1. May 16, 2023, Meeting Minutes
    2. September 19, 2023, Meeting Minutes
      • Commissioner DeGroot moved to accept the Meeting Minutes; Commissioner May seconded. A roll call vote was taken.

      • NAYS: 0
      • ABSENT: R. Fritz, L. Polacek: 2
      • Motion approved.
  1. OLD BUSINESS:
    1. Policy Manual: The committee discussed that the decennial meetings were to get feedback from the community on the policy manual, and ultimately all changes to the manual would still be completed by the commissioners during regular board meetings.
    2. Community Feedback: Executive Director Fila explained about the community survey that went out. Discussion was held about the decennial report and the survey results. Staff covered the difficulties with residents receiving the survey and inquiries were made about some of the results.
    3. Community Relationships and Opportunities: Executive Director Fila explained that at conference we would like to get in contact with state senators and representatives. He also stated that the park district is working to get a 501c3 started. Specialist Garavito gave a rundown on the number of people from the resident survey who are interested in being in a focus group.
  1. NEW BUSINESS:
    1. Deadlines & Meeting Dates: The next Decennial Committee meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 20 at 4:45pm. Executive Director Fila will present a draft of the decennial report at this meeting.
  1. ADJOURNMENT: Commissioner May moved to adjourn made at 5:01pm; Commissioner DeGroot, seconded. On a voice vote motion carried.
